Summer Senior Pictures & Family Portraits

Early mornings are absolutely gorgeous for summer senior pictures and family portraits. I’m an early riser so I love morning photography sessions. The light is so pretty and the weather is much cooler than late afternoon sessions. Charlotte can get very hot and sticky in the summer and the last thing I want is for you and your family to be sweaty and uncomfortable. Neither photograph well 😉 I’m here to show you that summer sessions can be perfect if you time them right. Just look at the gorgeous summer session below. This was photographed in the middle of July, always one of our hottest months. Like many clients, the Hallman family loves everything about summer – the colors, the clothing, their sun-kissed faces, even the more relaxed family schedule. Those are all very important things to consider when scheduling a photo session. I always advise clients to pick a season that they love (and that they’d like to see in the background of their photos) and to think about when a session best fits into their family calendar. For many of us, summer is simply more flexible. That was certainly the case for the Hallmans. Mom was so smart to be thinking ahead of Natalie’s senior year. She knew how busy fall and spring would get with two high schoolers, college visits, testing, sports and more. They asked me to shoot Natalie’s senior portraits and updated family pictures over the summer when they had time to enjoy the experience. The girls were so gorgeous and the morning couldn’t have been more beautiful. By 9 a.m. we had photographed new family portraits and completed senior pictures, a few weeks ahead of the school year. How’s that for a great way to start your morning? And your senior year?!?!
