Mommy and Me used to mean a play class. You remember, right? Like Gymboree or Little Gym but for really young babies who still needed support, thus the “mommy” part. Now it’s making a mark in the photography world and rightfully so. Who is always missing from the family archives? Mommy! Usually because she’s the one taking the pictures. No more! I jumped when my friend Ellen said let’s do a session for just me and my baby girl, a mommy and me shoot. When my kids were babies, I didn’t appreciate how quickly they change. At this stage, they learn something new every single day. Each month brings new skills and little personalities that begin to emerge. I see it now because my clients value capturing it all – the milestones and the subtle changes. I love being a part of this growth and the variety of photography that comes with it. From sleepy, snuggly newborns to this . . . baby Cecelia just 4 months later sitting, rolling, laughing and loving her mommy and me time.
Here’s my beautiful friend Ellen and part of her family. We captured them all during Cecelia’s newborn shoot, but this Bundle session was just for Mommy and her baby girl … though one big brother was home and quite willing to join the fun 🙂 I love spending time with this family and can’t wait to do it again in a few months.
