Charlotte Catholic Soccer Star’s Senior Portraits

This handsome soccer star graduated from Charlotte Catholic High School on May 31st. He is heading Hampden-Sydney College in the fall and is the proud recipient of Hampden-Sydney’s Patrick Henry Scholarship . . . an offer he received at the start of his senior year. He was also accepted to the college’s Wilson Leadership Fellows Program, a four-year leadership program designed for a select group of motivated, energetic freshmen who wish to make a difference in their communities today and tomorrow. Congratulations William T! You’ve had a BIG year! Thank you for asking me to document it with a mix of traditional, candid and athletic senior portraits. I always love my time with you and your family, and getting to see some of your soccer moves was a bonus!

William has loved soccer most of his life. He started playing in preschool at the YMCA, then played for Charlotte United FC, followed by 6+ years with Charlotte Soccer Academy (CSA) and at the same time playing for Charlotte Catholic. He is typically a right winger but has played many different positions. William has won two State Cups with CSA and had a fantastic senior year with his Catholic team too. They finished the season ranked 3rd in the nation for division 3A after a heartbreaking loss in the playoffs. According to his mom, “William has experienced so many highs and lows through the game of soccer and learned so much about life and perseverance. The high note will be playing soccer at Hampden-Sydney for sure!”

Hampden-Sydney is a men’s liberal arts college in Hampden Sydney, Virginia. It was founded in 1775 and is the oldest privately chartered college in the southern United States and tenth-oldest college in the nation. It is one of only three four-year, all-male liberal arts colleges remaining in the U.S. and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. William’s college studies will most likely follow a pre-med track.

At Charlotte Catholic, William was a member of the World Language Honor Society. He was also honored with the “Most Likely To Stay Best Friends” senior superlative along with his friend group of 19 boys. I love that! It’s a superlative that truly tells you a lot about a person and the friends he surrounds himself with. Congratulations William! I know your family is so proud of you.

Enjoy seeing a few of my favorites from William’s senior portrait session last October in Uptown Charlotte.

Welcome to my blog! I’m a child and family photographer based in Charlotte NC.

Parents always ask, “what if my kid doesn’t listen?” My answer: that’s actually perfect. Don’t tell your children I said so, but personalities shine when listening ears fail. I welcome the silly. I want the giggles. I watch for honest smiles, real connections and stolen family moments.

This applies to your big kids and high school seniors too. Wink, Wink.
