School is back in session which means my 2019 seniors are off to college and my 2020 seniors are starting to plan their senior portrait sessions. Here’s one from last November that my fall seniors will definitely want to see, both for the location and the fashion choices.
Meet my friend Samantha. She’s a recent graduate of Ardrey Kell High School and is now a freshman at North Carolina State University (NC State). Samantha moved to campus in mid August and took her first college class on August 21st. So far she’s loving it and feels right at home as a new member of the Wolfpack. Samantha plans to major in Human Biology and is specifically interested in genetics and microbiology. She hopes to go to PA school and work in dermatology one day. I know she’ll do it too. Her many high school honors and achievements show that she puts her heart, soul and brain into everything she does. She was a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society (vice president), National Technical Honor Society, Marching Band, Women’s Track and Field, Spanish Club and HOSA Club . . . just a name a few. I can’t wait to see her rock genetics and microbiology. You are amazing Sam!
We photographed Samantha’s senior portraits last November at Marvin Efird Park in Marvin, North Carolina. I love this location for the wide open spaces, wheat fields, barn and gorgeous light coming through the trees. It’s one of my favorite locations in the greater Charlotte area for a natural setting and it works well for both senior sessions and family sessions. As you will see below, we captured some family portraits during this session too. I love including families in senior sessions because – this is sad but the #truth – the graduating senior is probably leaving home soon. As a mom, I can only image how hard it will be to get everyone together again for pictures once the kids aren’t under my roof. It’s hard enough when they do live here! So yes, I ALWAYS welcome and encourage a few family pictures during senior sessions. Samantha’s family absolutely adores her and it shows. I LOVE all the images we made together and I know that they will treasure these for a very, very long time.
Thank you E family for trusting me with Samantha’s senior pictures. She looked stunning. We had an absolutely gorgeous night and I loved our time together.
I’ve been featuring high school seniors all summer so please click on my blog to see more amazing graduates. You can also visit my senior portfolio for examples of traditional, candid and even athletic senior portraits.
