Spring Graduation Portraits in Myers Park and Camp North End

For Isabelle’s spring graduation portraits we wanted a mix of blooming flowers and funky urban backgrounds. I’m proud to report, we timed the blooms perfectly. It sounds easy, but honestly, with Charlotte’s crazy weather, you just never know when the spring show will start. Thankfully, the azaleas and dogwoods in Charlotte’s Myers Park neighborhood were on full display this day. It made me so happy because Isabelle just moved to Charlotte in 2020. Adding some seasonal southern color to her photographs was a high priority.

Isabelle is currently a senior at Myers Park High School and she is a photographer! Do you have any idea how excited I was to photograph an aspiring photographer?! She shoots film (which I do not) so it was nice to talk shop with her. Needless to say, we had a lot in common and had a lot of fun running around Charlotte together. I know you will see that in her senior portraits below. Isabelle graduates on June 13th. She is a member of the National Honor Society and loves giving back to her community. During the pandemic she volunteered with the food bank.

Penn State & New Zealand Bound

Isabelle is taking a gap year before studying Aerospace engineering at Penn State University (PSU). She has family ties to PSU and loved the spirit of a Big 10 school. PSU is lucky to get her but will have to wait until the 2023-24 school year. She plans to travel abroad working and exploring New Zealand during her gap year. In addition to her film photography mentioned above, Isabelle loves art, travel, hiking and waterfalls. New Zealand sounds perfect. I’m jealous. I can’t wait to see her pictures.

This summer Isabelle is traveling with family to North Captiva, Florida and the North Carolina Outer Banks. She’s also looking forward to hanging out with friends and working. I told her that she needs to add modeling to her list. Seriously. Look at these images. She’s a natural and my camera loved her.

Isabelle & Cayce – Thank you for choosing me for your spring graduation portraits. I loved every minute of our time together and am so excited to have your family here in Charlotte. Enjoy New Zealand and post lots of pictures for me.

I love senior announcements and Isabelle and her mom really nailed this. Thank you for sharing your creativity with me and finding the perfect layout for these new portraits. I love seeing how clients put their senior pictures to use.

Charlotte NC Professional Photographer Abbe McCracken

meet Abbe

Welcome to my blog! I’m a child and family photographer based in Charlotte NC.

Parents always ask, “what if my kid doesn’t listen?” My answer: that’s actually perfect. Don’t tell your children I said so, but personalities shine when listening ears fail. I welcome the silly. I want the giggles. I watch for honest smiles, real connections and stolen family moments.

This applies to your big kids and high school seniors too. Wink, Wink.
