When I saw Emily a few days ago she had just returned from the Senior Walk at Elizabeth Lane Elementary. It’s one of our favorite neighborhood school traditions and where we all first met so many years ago. Emily and her family are long-time clients. I love the energy they bring to our sessions and the freedom they give me to create. Our families have a lot in common, so needless to say we always have fun. But this Senior+Family session was extra creative and colorful because Emily was the star.
Meet my friend Emily. She’s graduating from Providence High School next week and will attend Meredith College in the fall. Emily plans to double major in Theater and either English or Mass Communications. We share those interests too! I was a Communications major and my daughter Kate is currently a Theater major. During her high school career, Emily acted in four main stage shows at Providence.
“My favorite senior memory was having the opportunity to assistant direct our fall show Clue, along with be in the cast. It was an amazing experience to be able to grow my abilities as an actor and director, along with as a leader.”
Emily Neeriemer, Class of 2023
Emily is a member of the International Thespian Society and was Co-President of the school’s Gay-Straight Alliance. She is also a member of the Adult Choir at Park Road Baptist Church. This summer includes lots of awesome travel for Emily and her family. Emily will attend a mission trip in Alabama as well as church camp, and the entire family is traveling to Italy in July.
Emily – I loved our time together. You are such an amazing leader and friend to so many. You are so stylish, funny and loving. And you know, I’m obsessed with your eyes. I mean, everyone is about to be. Thank you for bringing your creative and colorful self to one of my favorite creative and colorful locations. Thanks for bringing your cute family too.

Bonus Candids and Family Pictures
How cute are Mom & Dad?!?! I love that we have time for everyone to have fun during Senior+Family Sessions. Here are just a few of my favorites from the rest of our shoot. Many of these happened while Emily was changing outfits, or while I was photographing one family member but looked over my shoulder to see something fun happening elsewhere. Always be ready!!!

I adore the shot below because this is what I saw when I glanced over my shoulder. No posing. No direction. No staging. Just pure father-daughter fun and togetherness (with awesome framing and a semi-hidden third family member #iykyk).

We closed out the night with the most perfect sunset and resulting sun flare! I love when warm light fills the frame. And I adore the rim light too!! It’s most prominent on dad. This image makes me so happy.
