This Myers Park Senior shines so bright! Meet my friend Stella. I first photographed her in 2013. That’s 11 years ago and now she’s graduating from high school. I mean, where does the time go?!? I love seeing my clients all grown up but it’s always such a shocking reminder that the years are short. So very short. But Stella has made the most of her time! She is graduating from Myers Park High School this week and is attending North Carolina State University in the fall. Graduation is set for Thursday, June 13, 2024 at BoJangles Coliseum here in Charlotte, North Carolina.
NC State Bound
Stella comes of a long line of NC State alumni and is excited to continue the family tradition as her paternal grandfather and great grandfather both attended. She has not decided on her major yet and like my senior client Isabel, is participating in the first year Exploratory Studies program. I need to introduce Stella and Isabel because they have a lot in common including Camp Harrison … keep reading!
World Traveler & Camp Counselor
I love asking my seniors about their favorite senior memories. Stella’s favorite memories include going to Australia twice this year and having an awesome pirate-themed graduation party with all of her friends. I don’t know about you, but I want both of those memories too … and honestly, I’ll settle for Australia just once! I love that she got to travel so much, and that she got to see Taylor Swift during one of those trips. I’m not going to lie, I’m super jealous. That’s it. Just jealous. But I LOVE following along on her adventures!
Stella has several more adventures coming up this summer including beach time with her bestie Kate. Kate joined us for a few pictures during Stella’s senior portrait session and they are the cutest duo. I love when friends tag along and don’t mind getting in front of the camera. Those relationships are so important and should be documented. Kate tagged along as Stella’s hype girl and ultimately, joined the photo fun. Stella is also working this summer as a camp counselor at YMCA Camp Harrison (watch out for the Beaver Shark!) and traveling to Nantucket with her mom before college starts.
Myers Park Honor Student
Stella made the most of her high school years as both an Honors Student and an active volunteer. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society and DECA. She also spends a lot of time tutoring elementary school students through Building Bridges and volunteering monthly at Crisis Ministries. She definitely has a volunteer spirit that shines as bright as she does. See this awesome Myers Park senior for yourself below. Stella – Happy Graduation in 2 days! Walk tall!
