Spring Family Portraits in Uptown Charlotte

Yesterday I blogged a gorgeous spring session from Carmel Country Club and now I’ve got a serious case of Springitus. Actually I should say #springitus since it’s already that trendy. I’ll share more fall sessions next week. This week, let’s keep the spring family portraits coming.

This mama is the most amazing speech therapist! She worked with my son Jay and helped him exceed all of his goals in record time. You know we love her! Luckily she asked me to photograph her family so I got to meet the rest of her gang. They are equally awesome. We started our session in Uptown Charlotte on The Green and made our way around to Romare Bearden Park. If you’ve been uptown recently you know there is a ton of construction around Romare Bearden Park. As a photographer, it’s really important to plan for construction because it can make or break your picture. I had a plan. I knew one of my favorite sight lines was still a clean shot … well, clean enough to put a little Photoshop magic on it 😉 I always love the urban landscapes of uptown Charlotte – the buildings and bricks make such interesting backgrounds for family portraits. Enjoy meeting my friends The Tallents. They are a family full of love and laughter with a handsome big brother and a super spunky little sister. You’ll see in these spring family portraits … thank you for looking!

Uptown Charlotte is gorgeous all year around. Check out this recent fall uptown family session and this winter uptown senior session. Here’s another spring family session also photographed in some of my favorite uptown locations.

Welcome to my blog! I’m a child and family photographer based in Charlotte NC.

Parents always ask, “what if my kid doesn’t listen?” My answer: that’s actually perfect. Don’t tell your children I said so, but personalities shine when listening ears fail. I welcome the silly. I want the giggles. I watch for honest smiles, real connections and stolen family moments.

This applies to your big kids and high school seniors too. Wink, Wink.
