More photography awards! I recently shared that I received a Master Certification in Senior Photography from the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP). In addition, I now have a twin badge for Mastery in Child Photography too. I also just learned that Expertise listed me among the Best Portrait Photographers in Charlotte. That’s three new awards to celebrate! I submitted photography portfolios for consideration in NAPCP’s Mastery Program but the Expertise recognition was a total surprise.
About NAPCP’s Mastery Program
The NAPCP Master Photographer Certification Program rewards members by acknowledging their excellence in the craft of professional photography. The Program includes six different photography categories. A dedicated evaluation panel is constantly reviewing hundreds of images submitted in portfolios before awarding Mastery certificates in each category. Portfolios are scored based on consistency and technical skill across a wide variety of subjects and settings. I have only submitted portfolios for mastery in these two categories – Senior and Child – and I’m honored to hold Certificates of Mastery in both. Requirements for Mastery of Child Photography
The criteria for becoming a Master Photographer in Child Photography was very similar except it featured children age 4 to 15. As with my senior portfolio, I submitted 25 images. Every image featured a different subject and a different setting. That type of variety is very important when demonstrating consistency and technical skill. It showcases my ability to beautifully capture children in many types of situations. It shows my ability to handle all kinds of personalities, weather, lighting conditions and locations. No matter what we encounter on the day of the shoot, it’s under control. It’s a brilliant measurement tool in my opinion.
Expertise’s Best Portrait Photographers in Charlotte
As I mentioned above, my recognition as one of Expertise’s 2021 Best Portrait Photographers in Charlotte was a complete surprise. Expertise gave me a A+ rating and states the following:
