Today I have the honor of sharing an amazing mother and daughter with you. They are both 2023 Graduates – one from high school and one from Duke’s MBA program. You may recognize them from our last Spooky Sarios photo session. Since then, the family moved to Atlanta but recently came back to Charlotte for a Senior+Family Portrait Session with me! What a huge honor it is to have clients travel to work with you.
I love this family. They are so cool and creative. We’ve worked together many times over the last 10 years and every single session has been pure joy for me. Their new session was no different. We had so many ideas and we had a blast executing them. So without further delay, here are the graduates with their family in tow. All photographed at Camp North End in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Thespian of the Year off to Savannah College of Art & Design
“Most Likely to End Up on Broadway” and “Thespian of the Year” are both titles that belong to this awesome senior. Proof that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree (iykyk).
Meet my talented friend Ella. She graduates from high school on May 26th and heads to Savannah College of Art & Design in the fall. Ella will be on the Savannah, Georgia campus majoring in Performing Arts and Film. She plans to travel abroad this summer with the theaters of Paris and London on the top of her itinerary. Most of Ella’s favorite memories from her senior year include performing (Legally Blonde, High School One Acts) but she also loved driving to school with her sister and grabbing coffee on the way.

Mom is Duke MBA Graduate
I wasn’t about to miss an opportunity to celebrate mom Kristen’s hard work too. She graduated last weekend with her MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business! It was her dream school and getting her MBA had been on her wish list for a long time.
“Someone told me that two years was going to go by whether I went back to grad school or not, and that I would either have the experience or I wouldn’t. For one reason or another, that really struck me. I literally danced in the kitchen while making dinner when Duke accepted me!”
Kristen noted that the experience was challenging and tested her limits more than once “but when I walked across the stage this past weekend and saw my kids cheering for me, it was all worth it.”
