Strong modeling portfolios get your foot in the door. They are often the first and only thing modeling agencies see before hiring new talent. This modeling portfolio I created for Kayman landed her an agent! Accepted. On the spot.
I’m not surprised. The minute I met Kayman, I knew her dreams of becoming a child star would come true. She’s got serious star power, just look at that face. Here’s a child who knows exactly what she wants and a family who is willing to help. She wants to sing, dance, act and model and to get there she needed a talent scout. To secure a talent scout, she wanted me. Kayman actually begged her parents for a photo session. How much do I love this kid? She has personality plus and it’s safe to say that she loved every minute of being in my spotlight. Good thing because these pictures scored her several immediate commercial auditions.
When creating modeling-acting portfolio images, it’s crucial to photograph a variety of expressions and poses. Talent scouts want to see all the angles, all the moods, all the variations of your look – serious, happy, full smile, smirk, full body, headshot only and so much more. Kayman changed outfits three times during her session. We also showed how fluid her look can be by changing hairstyles and accessories during the shoot. I can’t wait to follow this budding young actress and model. One day we will revisit the portfolio we created here and say remember when. I already see her name in lights.
Photographing children is my true passion. I love them regardless of whether they are gungho like Kayman or pouting in the corner. Connecting with children and capturing their real personalities make for amazing moments and memories. It’s what I do. I think we nailed it!
