Family Portraits in Charlotte's Freedom Park | Matthews Family Photographer

Charlotte’s Freedom Park is one of my favorite photography session locations. I shoot there a lot because I love the light and the combination of bridges, water and grassy areas. There are great spots for family portraits as well as candids of the fun we are having during the session. I use the varied backdrops of Freedom Park for everything from babies to teens but it’s important to me to match my clients with the time of day I shoot there. On weekend evenings, Freedom Park gets super busy and dogs/skateboarders/runners can all be very distracting to young kids. Not this family. I knew the kids would be old enough to control a wondering eye or two … plus for kids this age, seeing park life wiz by is great entertainment in-between photo calls. This family and Freedom Park were a perfect match. As you will see we worked our way around the entire park, beat the summer heat and avoided the masses. It almost looks like we had the park to ourselves (we did not!).

This family came to me via not just one, but two referrals. There’s nothing better than knowing clients love your work so much that they are showing and sharing with friends.
