Capturing Halloween – The Vampire Dairies | Charlotte Children’s Photography

It’s Halloween and holiday or not, my kids love a theme. I’m not sure how much longer this will last but they fully embrace matching when Halloween costumes are involved. Last year they trick-or-treated as Anakin and Amidala and the year before as Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. This year they wanted to be scary. We love the movie “Hotel Transylvania” and while Kate was “not exactly Mavis Dracula,” Jay most definitely was Count Dracula and he “vants to suck your blood.” He also spent a good part of the evening throwing his cape across his face to shield “the light, the light – it is blinding me!” Honestly, the scariest part was how long it took me to get everyone ready. I was afraid picture time would get sacrified. We squeezed it in with only a little extra blood and sweat. Pun intended.

I love capturing family events and special celebrations. My camera doesn’t come out every single day to capture my own kids.  They’d probably gnash their vampire teeth at me if it did.  But for holidays and special events, my camera comes out early and often.  I just can’t get enough of these unique family memories.  Now the blood on the other hand, I’m pretty much done with it already. Visit my own family photography for more of these two crazy kids.

Welcome to my blog! I’m a child and family photographer based in Charlotte NC.

Parents always ask, “what if my kid doesn’t listen?” My answer: that’s actually perfect. Don’t tell your children I said so, but personalities shine when listening ears fail. I welcome the silly. I want the giggles. I watch for honest smiles, real connections and stolen family moments.

This applies to your big kids and high school seniors too. Wink, Wink.
