Isle of Palms, South Carolina is one of my favorite spots. We’ve vacationed there several times and we love it more every time. It’s always nice to come home and relive the memories, but now that the laundry is done I’m ready to go back. Seriously. I can be in the car in about 10 mins and it’s only about a 3-hour drive from Charlotte. Yes, I might have a bit of a heavy foot.
One of the things I loved about this trip was sharing a house with our family friends. There were children of all ages and thus always someone ready to join in the fun. The house was located in Wild Dunes Resort and was situated just a few rows back from the beach. Beach front would have been nice, but we traded that for extra bedrooms, a pool and beach access path only a few feet away. It was ideal.
Here’s a peek at our family fun including our boat outing with Barrier Island Eco Tours, located at the Isle of Palms marina. This is a must do for all families vacationing in the area. All of our kids loved exploring the salt marshes and barrier islands around Charleston and Isle of Palms. We pulled crab traps, went shrimping and found huge shells on Capers Island. I also pulled my camera out a lot. It’s not shocking. I own my obsessions. Lucky for me I was able to squeeze in two gorgeous family beach sessions for our friends (and my clients) too. My camera was basically an appendage all week and I loved every second of it.
