From Eagle to Phoenix | Downtown Matthews NC Senior Session

New clients are so much fun. Especially Jake. I first met him about 10 minutes before we started taking pictures and immediately loved his quiet nature and laid-back style. Jake’s mother and I volunteer together at Blumenthal Performing Arts and I’m so grateful that she gave me the honor of photographing his senior portraits. As you will see in the pictures below, Jake is tall, handsome and a natural in front of the camera. He even has a super unique facial feature that I couldn’t wait to photograph: one blue eye and one green eye. His eyes are stunning!

I photographed his senior session in downtown Matthews NC earlier this spring. The location was perfect for his personality and the timing was perfect for dogwood blooms. Plus his cute parents were able to join us for a few pictures too. I love working with new clients and showing them how much fun photo sessions should be. It is so fun to let them see how amazing they look and help them find confidence in front of the camera. These three nailed it.

From Eagle Scout to Elon Phoenix

Jake recently graduated from Charlotte Catholic and is attending Elon University in the fall. He was drawn to Elon because of the school’s tight-knit community and is interested in studying Physical Therapy, Business and Religion.

Jake has shown incredible work ethic and commitment to his community over the years. For example, this year he received his Eagle Scout after spending many years in the Boy Scouts of America. Likewise, he found it very rewarding to be the Senior Patrol Leader of his troop during Junior Year. Jake also loves volunteering through his church’s Youth Group both locally and on mission trips. His latest mission trips were to Tennessee and Mexico. He will continue this work through the summer as he is currently in Mexico building a house in Reynosa with Faith Ministry. This is his second year traveling to Reynosa to work with local families. He also just returned from Israel with the seniors in his youth group. He said “it was an amazing experience and [he] will treasure it forever.”

I have no doubt that you will continue to do great things as an Elon Phoenix, Jake! Thank you for giving me the chance to get to know you. I loved our time together and am so happy to be sharing your senior portraits. Keep up your awesome community work. It matters and you are setting such a great example for kids young and old. Thank you for being YOU!
