This gorgeous Providence High School graduate becomes a Sewanee resident today! She’s moving in and starting classes soon at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. She will also be playing lacrosse for the school. Catherine – You are going to do big things and I can’t wait to watch. Tennessee is my home state and I’m so proud that we got you!
Catherine and her sisters have always been muses for me. Aside from being great humans and student leaders, they all have flawless skin, big smiles and gorgeous dark hair. And Catherine has the most remarkable freckles. I’m in love with them. Always have been. One look at the pictures below and I think you will agree. She is stunning.
Catherine graduated from Providence High School earlier this summer. Her mom says,
“Catherine is my athlete and studio artist. She is and has always been rough and tumble, ready to tackle new challenges, ready to meet new people, and full of great energy.”
So it will not surprise you to know that she walked onto the Providence Varsity Women’s Golf team and played all four years graduating with the Coach’s Award. She also ran Varsity Women’s Track just to stay in shape. Sounds reasonable. And hard. Maybe crazy. But she rocked it as always. As a freshman Catherine also made her school’s Varsity Lacrosse team – having never played before. She got the Rookie Award in 9th grade, the Tenacity Award in 10th grade and finished high school as a 4-year varsity player. She is playing collegiate lacrosse at Sewanee. Cat’s mom also played lacrosse in high school and college so they share a passion for this sport.
An avid art lover, Catherine was a member of the National Art Honors Society and participated in honors/AP level art courses through high school. She also earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award all four years of high school by volunteering over 100 hours each year serving Myers Park Presbyterian ministries and volunteer coaching at The First Tee of Greater Charlotte and Team Lacrosse Academy.
As you can tell, Sewanee is gaining one super smart, sporty, artsy and community-minded student. Her mom says, “After her summers away at Camp Ton-A-Wandah in Hendersonville, NC, I think she will fit right into this mountain school.” Catherine plans to major in history and is considering a minor in art. She is also on the Pre-Law track and hopes to go into Family Law one day. Sewanee awarded Catherine a merit scholarship and an academic grant. Told you she was smart!
Catherine’s family is dropping her off at Sewanee today, August 10. Like many schools, all breaks and festivities have been cancelled so she will not be home until Thanksgiving. Have a great first semester Cat! I’m so proud of you and proud to be your photographer.
