There are so many great locations around Charlotte for senior photo sessions. Independence Park is one of my favorites. It’s smaller than most parks in our area and has gorgeous stonework. It also provides that perfect summer glow as the sun sets on the trees in the background. Caitlin waited several weeks for the weather to cooperate for her senior photo session. But as you can see, both she and the summer sun were glowing.
Meet my friend Caitlin. I’ve known her family for several years and jumped at the chance to get to know her better. She recently graduated from Providence High School (PHS) and heads to Application State University in a few short weeks. Caitlin plans to major in International Business with a minor in German. For this major she is required to study abroad and plans to study in Germany when allowed. I know that is one requirement she can’t wait to fulfill. And she’s already prepared! At PHS, Caitlin was in the German Club all four years and qualified for the National German Honors Society. She also volunteered every Saturday at Deutshe Schule Charlotte helping kids learn German. In her spare time, she played four years of women’s soccer for her high school.
Graduation was different this year for Caitlin and her senior classmates. Because of COVID-19, most traditional graduation ceremonies were cancelled. PHS hosted a celebratory drive thru diploma pick up and in July, Caitlin and her friends gathered to watch the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools virtual graduation ceremony. They wore caps and gowns to the watch party, and yes, the caps went flying. Caitlin said it was a really special moment for them all.
Caitlin, I’m so happy I got to photograph your senior portraits. Thank you for bringing your family along too. I always love adding family members to a few key senior photos. Mom and dad need to get those hugs while they can. Have so many great adventures at App State and studying abroad. I can’t wait to watch you soar.
