It’s that time of year again to start featuring my amazing high school seniors. They are, as usual, a seriously impressive crew. But this year, more than ever, I really want to celebrate them. COVID-19 as dealt them a bad hand. They have missed proms, are unsure of graduation plans and above all, simply miss finishing their high school careers on campus, in class with friends and well-loved teachers. All the more reason to celebrate them big and show off their senior portraits!
Today I’d like to introduce you to my friend Riley. She’s a swimming superstar at Providence High School (PHS) and will be attending North Carolina State University with plans to pursue a career in healthcare. Congrats Riley!
Riley is Captain of the PHS swim team and has been a team member all four years of high school. She has been swimming since she was 5 years old and says her favorite event is the 100 Butterfly. I swam in high school too and Butterfly was NEVER my favorite. It’s a hard, powerful stroke that I begged my way out of every single time. Guess what her second favorite event is? The 200 Butterfly. She must have some serious upper body strength because that is a race that would send me to the locker room crying before it ever even started. Amazing!
On dry land, Riley is a member of the National Honor Society, PHS’s German Honor Society and is a 3-time recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Award. For the past two summers she has participated in the highly selective Atrium Health Internship Program at Atrium Pineville Hospital.
Riley is more than just beautiful, smart and sporty. She paints too! During the COVID-19 Stay At Home orders, Riley has been helping her family by painting several rooms in their home. I wish she could come paint at my house!
Thank you Riley and family for trusting me with Riley’s senior portraits and your new family pictures. I loved our time together last fall in Independence Park. All of Riley’s senior pictures have a casual, natural feel that you know I love. Riley – I’m so proud to know you. Go Wolfpack!
I have so many senior portrait sessions to share over the next few months and even more to photograph when our North Carolina Stay-at-Home orders lift on hopefully May 8.
Please come back next week to see another new senior session from this past fall. In the meantime, visit my senior portfolio or view other seniors previously featured on the blog.
