My new client Caleb had me hooked from our first conversation. He had a vision for his senior portraits and wanted me to capture it. When high school seniors have requests, I will always try to make those images happen. Why? Because having a vision means feeling invested. It shows creativity, care and even excitement about the experience.
Yes, I make creative decisions and give compositional directions all session long, but when a client comes with ideas of their own, I always do a little happy dance. Caleb wanted to incorporate his father’s sports car, a super awesome white McLaren to be exact. He also knew that he wanted to pair it with an all-black suit. It was so sharp! He looks amazing and as you will see below, both subjects are shining bright. We timed the session perfectly so that Caleb, the McLaren and Uptown would be bathed in sunset light. Mission accomplished!
Meet my new friend Caleb Peters! Caleb graduated from Providence High School on June 8th and received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for providing over 100 hours of service. He plans to attend East Carolina University in the fall to major in business and minor in construction management. To celebrate graduation and his many accomplishments, Caleb and his family are traveling Italy this summer. I’m jealous! We visited Rome, Tuscany and Florence last summer. It’s such an amazing country and an awesome graduation gift!
Caleb – Thank you for selecting me to photograph your senior portraits. I loved working with you and bringing your vision to life. Next time I might request to drive the car! I love sports cars. And I love to drive fast. True story.
This session was photographed in Uptown Charlotte at The Green, Mint Museum and Central Piedmont Community College.
