From the Bus Stop to UNC Wilmington
One of my first memories of Matthew is meeting him and his family at the neighborhood bus stop. Now, almost a decade later, he is off to college! Although our bus stop days are long behind us, it feels like yesterday that our kids stood on the curb waiting for their school day to begin. Now these kids are all grown up, including Matthew who recently graduated from Providence High School.
Matthew is excited to attend UNC Wilmington in the fall! When applying to college, he wanted to be somewhere warm and near the beach. I’m sure he will be taking advantage of the outdoor fun a beach school like UNC Wilmington has to offer. Although he is undecided about his major, he is leaning towards either exercise science or business.
During high school, Matthew was a leader in his school and community. At Providence, he was a member of the National Honors Society, an organization that prioritizes service and academic excellence. He spent much of his time outside of the classroom volunteering at church and a local retirement home. These are two activities that demonstrate Matthew’s commitment to serving his community.
In celebration of all his hard work, Matthew has an exciting summer planned. In June he took every baseball-lovers dream trip to Chicago to see Wrigley Field. At the end of July, he heads to Montreat for a church youth conference and he has a beach trip lined up for early August!
I am so excited to share the photos from Matthew’s session. If you see two graduates, don’t worry, you aren’t seeing double. Matthew’s older brother, Thomas, graduated from Appalachian State this year so we used this session to show off his accomplishment as well. For a throw back, check out his high school senior portraits. I hope you enjoy the gorgeous blooms and smiling faces of this spring senior session!
