It’s a big week for my Providence High School seniors. Graduation is tomorrow! I’ve worked with this handsome senior for many years, and I can’t believe his graduation is officially here. On Wednesday, Thomas W will join my Providence seniors Julia M, Jackson W and Emma K as they walk across the stage to receive their high school diplomas. I know they will stand tall and walk proud. I have no idea how their mommas are going to keep it together. I will be thinking about you all! Please post lots of cap and gown pictures. I can’t wait to see.
Meet my friend, neighbor and long-time client Thomas W. We photographed his senior portraits at home and across the street at Providence High School. The entire weekend had been plagued with pop up rain showers, and this Sunday afternoon was no different. But we saw a clearing in the weather and went for it. I’m so glad we did because I love the senior portraits we created AND something extra special happened. We ran into Thomas’ theater teacher and I was able to grab a photo of them together. Sure it was a just quick snapshot and yeah, we totally ambushed him but those two have shared so many moments over the last four years. In fact, this same teacher recently presented Thomas with a huge honor, the school’s Technical Theater Achievement Award. Thomas has been involved in lighting design for PHS plays and musicals since he was a freshman. For the past two years, he’s been directing ALL of the lighting design. In his spare time, he works lighting and sound for McGee Entertainment and helps with technical staging needs at his church such as running sound boards and setting lights. His dedication and commitment to technical theater is very obvious, both on paper and in person. I’ve seen many of his shows and he always enhances what actors bring to the stage. His lighting and sound work is amazing.
Thomas is a member of the National Honor Society and the International Thespian Society. He also played violin in the orchestra all four years of high school. In the fall, Thomas will be attending Appalachian State University and is considering a degree in Sustainable Technology and Technical Theater. Sounds like the perfect fit to me!
I’m so proud of you Thomas. Thank you for letting me photograph your senior portraits and for always trusting me . . . even when I decide we should roll under the stadium gates.
We have captured the funniest candids of these two siblings over the years . . .
