High school portraits should be amazing. Images should have character and really capture the spirit of your teen. That’s exactly what we did at Providence High School here in Charlotte a few weeks ago. We captured all 100+ cadets, some laughing, some smiling and some fiercely serious. I love high school teens (someone remind me of that when my two kids are this age). Teenagers are so full of life, so energetic, so funny and so honest. Fifty percent of them always tell me they are not photogenic. The other 50% say they don’t like having their picture made. Challenges accepted and conquered. Do you have any idea how much I love when high schoolers say those things to me? Like a whole lot. Because I know that not only are they going to enjoy the experience, they are going to see themselves in a whole new light. I love seeing them walk away a little taller and a little more confident. It makes my day. You know what else makes my day? When one of them Instagram‘s me, “I had fun with pictures for the first time ever.” That’s the icing and the whole cake. It was music to my ears then and it still is now.
Below is a screen shot sneak peek of the final gallery collage. As it turns out, they were all so photogenic that I couldn’t even pick my favorites. That’s not true. I’d legitimately have over 100 favorites and that might get a little long. Thank you Providence ROTC for asking me to capture these high school portraits. Thank you cadets for being you and working with me. Enjoy your photogenic selves!
