It’s hard to imagine loving a project more than I’ve loved this iPhoneography one. And it’s hard to believe I actually narrowed it down to 10 favorites (Ok, I didn’t. I just snuck in 2 bonus pics). One year ago I started an Instagram 365 project with my iPhone only. I kicked it off January 1, 2014 and shared some of my favorites from the first month in a post about Why Your iPhone Rocks. Now, 363 days later I can easily say it’s been one of my favorite photography projects ever … though I really loved 2013’s Project 52 as well. But they were totally different. Project 52 was done with my professional camera and was only one picture per week. This was iPhone only seven days a week. From the event-driven pictures to the mundane, I love this collection so much. It’s one image from my life for every single day of 2014. Some are beautiful, some are silly; some are happy, some are sad; some are selfies, some are usies; some mark special occasions and some were taken at 10 p.m. scrambling to document just about anything. You can find the whole collection on Instagram at abbemccrackenphotography. I kept track of the specific 365 pictures by using the hashtag #abbemccrackenphotography365 to make my own category. I also kept track of this photography collection using the Collect app and Artifact Uprising’s Instagram books via their iPhone app as well. Eleven (almost 12) of these books now sit in our family room. At least one of them gets a smile, a laugh, a story or a question daily. For me, that makes the daily scramble totally worth it.
MY IPHONE FAVORITES
In no specific order, here are 10 of my favorite family moments from 2014 plus a few bonus pictures because picking 10 was simply too hard.
BONUS FAVORITES
This was my grandmother’s – we call her Gram – IG debut. She looks amazing and I love this “usie” from July 2014. I’m so happy we have this moment together and that I could introduce her to the wonders of social media 🙂
Kate picked these out for us. The picture says it all. One of my favorite blessings of 2014.
